- Limousines: Chauffeur-driven luxury vehicles for hire.
Class 4 Restricted
The key difference between a Class 4 restricted and unrestricted license is typically related to the size and type of passenger-carrying vehicles the driver is permitted to operate.
- Taxis: Vehicles used for passenger transport services.

- Rideshare Vehicles: Vehicles used for ridesharing services like Uber or Lyft.

Class 5
Class 7
Designed for new drivers learning to operate a vehicle. This learner’s permit allows individuals to gain driving experience under specific restrictions and supervision. The specific regulations and naming conventions for a Class 7 license can vary by province, but the core concept is generally consistent across the country.
Key Features and Requirements of a Class 7 License:
- Age Requirement: Typically, individuals must be at least 16 years old to apply for a Class 7 license, though some provinces allow learners as young as 14 or 15 with parental consent.
- Knowledge Test: Applicants must pass a written test covering road signs, traffic laws, and safe driving practices.
